Pennsylvania High School Soccer Team Under Fire for Making Ebola Chants Towards a West African Player

Back in the day Bill Cosby had a show on television that featured little kids saying the darnedest things. It was exactly what advertisers hoped for--cute as hell. It was no surprise really. Every parent has a thousand stories of when their little treasure said something that was too cute.

So what the heck happens to the cute kid when he/she turns in to a teenager?

Parents of the Northampton High School (PA) soccer team may have been wondering about that when they heard their kids had been shouting taunts about Ebola towards a West African student playing for the opposing team last Thursday.

Reports do not indicate whether the Northampton team was aware, but the West African player is from a small town in Guinea, ground zero for the Ebola outbreak. He and his little brother escaped to the U.S. three years ago, but their parents still live in Guinea.

With that kind of history it is understandable that he eventually had enough of the taunts and charged one of the Northampton players, but it was the West African player that was ejected while the Northampton kids high-fived each other.

Local news outlets are reporting that Northampton school officials have completed their investigation in to the matter. Both coaches have since resigned, but it is not clear whether they were told to or did so of their own accord.

What punishment the offending players are going to receive has not been made public yet.
