WATCH: Game Winning Touchdown For Notre Dame Called Back Due to Offensive Pass Interference Call

This just hurts. If you are going to lose an epic game you want to lose it because you got beat--not because you beat yourself. Sadly, that is exactly what happened to the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame Saturday night against Florida State.

It looks here like Corey Robinson was making another great catch for the go-ahead touchdown, right?

@bleacherreport
There is just one problem though. The other two wide receivers were blocking for him. As much as the Notre Dame Faithful will hate to hear it that is a penalty.

The problem is that they never went out on a pass route, but immediately went to block the two defenders they are on--like you would for a wide receiver screen. However, for that to be legal the ball has to be caught behind the line of scrimmage.

Since the ball was caught in front of the line of scrimmage receivers really can't do crap until after they catch the ball. Otherwise it's pass interference.

Yeah, the refs didn't call it when FSU ran a similar play in the second and third quarter (which sucks), but what else can you do but say f****** refs.

Sorry Notre Dame. It's a crappy way to lose. Let's hope for a rematch in the playoffs.
