WATCH: New England Patriots Easily Blow Up Geno Smith to Michael Vick Option Play
The option works in high school and college for one reason and one reason only--one guy is a better athlete than the other. On a rare occasion it can work in the NFL, but only because the defense is too busy feeling nostalgic to stop it. The Jets have tried to run an option play before between Geno Smith and Michael Vick. It didn't work very well than, and it certainly didn't work Thursday night.
