New England Patriots RB Jonas Gray Makes NFL History With Epic Night Against the Indianapolis Colts

Jonas Gray had not had much game action prior to Sunday night's game against the Indianapolis Colts. Working on his third practice squad in three seasons, the New England Patriots were forced to give him a shot on the 53-man squad thanks to injuries. He did okay in his first three games in part-time duty (32 carries, 131 yards).

His fourth game though, Sunday night against Indianapolis, was the first time he was the primary back--and he made history.

Gray carried the ball 38 times for 199 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Patriots to a 42-20 win over the Colts. His four rushing touchdowns were a Patriots single-game rushing record, but as it turns out they were an NFL mark as well.

No other player entering a game without a touchdown to his name had scored four touchdowns since 1921:

Well done Jonas. Well done indeed.
