Tito Ortiz Wins at Bellator 131 But Needs to Retire Along With Stephan Bonnar [GIFs]

The hardest thing for anyone that is good enough at a sport to get paid for it to do is figure out when to hang it up. You've competed for as long as you can remember, you do nothing but train, and your world basically revolves around the sport.

But there comes a time when you just need to go. That time is now for MMA fighters Tito Ortiz and Stephan Bonnar.

@ZProphet_MMA
Bonnar I don't know and could really care less about, but Tito was the man at one time--a long time ago. He made some noise with a win over Alexander Shlemenko back in May, but after watching his match with Bonnar I can't help but think that was a fluke.

 Why? Well--this was Tito and Bonnar at the end of the first round. Tito looks good to go, right? Bonnar looks like he can barely stand up, right?

@ZProphet_MMA
Bonnar looked like he was ready to fall down if Tito burped on him. Yet somehow the dude survived through three rounds and even managed to hold his arms up like he might have even won.

Way to respond Tito.

@ZProphet_MMA
Tito ended up winning via split decision, 30-27 Ortiz, 29-28 Bonnar and 30-27 Ortiz. Yeah, we can't believe it either Bonnar.

@ZProphet_MMA
Had Tito knocked Bonnar out or submitted him at some point I'd be all for the old dog sticking around, but he didn't. Instead he must have gotten too tired himself to take out someone who was also exhausted.

According to a review on the BloodyElbow it sounds like he didn't end it because he couldn't.

Time for both of you guys to start doing the kinds of fights that will still make you look good--in the movies. Your real ones are not cutting it anymore.
