WATCH: Oakland Raiders QB David Carr Throws Game-Winning Touchdown Against Chiefs

It had been over a calendar year since the last time the Oakland Raiders won a game. Since then they have played a whole lot of really bad football, but on occasion they played some good football too (just never enough).

Thursday night though it finally was.

After seeing their 17-3 lead evaporate and become a three-point deficit with nine minutes left in the fourth quarter it would not have been surprising to see the Raiders say something like: Oh well. We gave it a good try. We lose again.

Instead rookie quarterback David Carr took the team on a 17-play drive that ate nearly half a quarter off the clock (7:21) that culminated in a nine yard touchdown pass to James Jones.

The Chiefs got past midfield with a little help from the Raiders, but Alex Smith failed to complete the pass on fourth down to keep the drive going.

Final Score: Raiders 24 Chiefs 20
