Former Indianapolis Colts Wide Receiver Austin Collie is Back in the Game Again--but in Canada

When the Indianapolis Colts drafted Austin Collie out of Brigham Young back in 2009 they had high hopes he would be a key weapon in the offense moving forward. Injuries, specifically concussions, called an end to his time in Indianapolis. The San Francisco 49er's gave him a look during the 2013 preseason, but let him go during the final cuts.New England gave him a shot during the season, but he did not play much.

Most of the world figured Collie was done due to his concussion issues a long time ago, but it appears like that is not the case. He is back playing again--in Canada.

The B.C. Lions have agreed to terms with Collie, an Ontario native, for the coming 2015 season. While they are fully aware of his injury history they still hope that he can be a productive member of the team.
“He will be examined like every other player. He won’t be the first player that’s played for the B.C. Lions that’s had a concussion. If we were that afraid, I’m not sure we would’ve even gotten into (a deal).”
Good for Austin. He was a solid player and good wide receiver for the Colts until he got one too many concussions. Hopefully his health wull be fine and this will be a much deserved second chance.
