Fast forward to Sunday night after the AFC Championship game and he is the toast of the town and beloved by Patriots fans everywhere. Steelers fans, however, were not so happy.

@fsmikey @FSBigBob Bro! Crazy Italian guy is right on! Blount was a tasty meatball that Belichick stole off of our plate! #yinzpiracy

@GioCBS So it's not a reach to think Belichick talked to Blount about how he could be cut by the Steelers. #kingofthecheaters

3 td's for Blount. Maybe that's one attitude problem we should've kept around. #justsayin

Blount's case is a perfect example of what teams have tried to manage for years. Are any issues a player has worth keeping him if you may need him someday but currently do not? Prior to the 24-hour news cycle and social media as long as the public did not find out about the 'issues' teams at least got time to see if they could deal with it.
Nowadays as soon as word leaks to the general public teams are forced to make a decision.
Do you want to risk the negative back-lash that comes with keeping someone a malcontent if he's a solid contributor or do you cut him loose, appear to be a tough, no-nonsense team, and risk him signing with another one and contributing there?
Like Blount did...
