The rivalry may be dead on the field, but the recruiting war that has been taking place between Texas A&M and Texas proves that it is alive and well.
The Texas A&M Aggies and Texas Longhorns may not play on the field anymore, but they are certainly doing battle on the recruiting trail. For weeks the two have been battling it out for the commitments of some of the best high school athletes the state has to offer. In recent weeks the battle has been really intense for the services of one player in particular—Allen quarterback Kyler Murray.
The battle became heated when Murray, who has been committed to Texas A&M for months, took a surprise visit to Austin to see the Longhorns during the middle of the week recently with former A&M commit, Damarkus Lodge. He made A&M fans worry when he tweeted a picture of a Longhorns jersey....
