Darren McFadden Confident He Can Carry the Load for the Dallas Cowboys

Former Oakland Raiders running back has to realize that there is going to be a huge spotlight on him next season. There were high hoped for the  former Arkansas Razorbacks running back, but seven years in to his career it is safe to say that he has not lived up to the hype. If you listen to McFadden he is far from done.

In fact, he says the best has yet to come.

McFadden had this to say on NFL AM:
"I just want to go out there and continue to show people what I can do," he said. "I still don't think the world has seen the best of Darren McFadden."
He is certainly going to have any and every chance in the world to show what he is capable of behind Dallas' top-notch offensive line. He is certainly going to have to do better than he did the last few years in Oakland where he averaged 3.3-3.4 yards a game.

The only problem he may run in to may be the expectations he is going to be faced with. It would be tough for any player to replace the production of the NFL's defending rushing champion, DeMarco Murray. Talk about big shoes to fill.

His career average is not bad (4.1 yards/carry) so there is hope for him, but he is injury prone and not young anymore. So if he is going to have a chance to show the world what he can do he better do as soon as he hits the field in the preseason otherwise he is going to find himself on the bench and whoever the Cowboys draft carrying the load.
