Sunday was a good day as well as a bad one for New York Mets rookie pitcher Noah Syndergaard. Good in that he notched his first MLB victory with a 5-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. It was bad in that he lost control of a fastball and ended up nailing Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez in the head with a pitch (97 MPH).
Amazingly GOmez was able to walk off on his own and word is that he just has a bruise in the shape of a batting helmet flap (where he was hit) on the side of his face.
