Dallas Cowboys TE Coach Mike Pope Puts Jason Witten Through the "Mule Drill"

For someone to make the Pro Bowl ten times like Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten has during his career more than talent and hard work is needed. He needs to have a coach that knows how to pull the best out of him and make him even better than he already is. Cowboys tight end coach Mike Pope has a knack for doing that.

Last season during training camp he talked about having close to 500 drills to help get the most out of his guys and Wednesday he had Jason Witten go through a rather goofy looking one--the "Mule Drill."

The idea behind it is to force Witten to concentrate on the ball and focus on making the catch since most of the work tight ends do is in traffic.

Although that is not always the case as Witten showed latter during a team drill.
