New York Jets No Longer Want to "Play Like a Jet"

When Rex Ryan took over the New York Jets in 2009 he coined a new motto for the team--Play Like a Jet. When you consider how they played the first couple of seasons that was a good thing, but the last couple not so much. So the notion of playing like a Jet doesn't really have a good connotation with it. You get images of guys running in to butts and well--Geno Smith.

To be fair, when Ryan explained what he meant by it the notion was kind of sweet.

“It’s going to mean that we care about each [other],” Ryan said in 2009, per the New York Post. “It’s going to mean that we’re going to give everything we’ve got, and they’re not doing it for selfish reasons. They’re doing it to take care of each other. When you play us you’re playing against a football team and not a bunch of individuals.”
The logo has been on the wall inside the team's facility as a reminder to everyone as they walked down the halls, but not any longer. The logo has been removed from the walls and replaced with something much simpler--Teamwork.

It's a good idea and one that fans are going to hope the guys can actually pull off this season.
