Offense wins games and defense wins championships may be one of the oldest sayings in the book, but that's because its true. Look at the Super Bowl winners in recent years; they all played solid defense. If they didn't play solid defense all season they played it when it mattered most in the playoffs (like Indianapolis and New Orleans). So if San Francisco is going to make it back to the promise land it is going to need its defense to make some plays--like safety Antoine Bethea did here during practice Tuesday.

As long as that wasn't Colin Kaepernick overthrowing the ball so bad the 49ers are in good shape.
