Chicago Bears Are Actually Favored Over The Denver Broncos This Week

At the beginning of the season if you were to ask someone what they thought the spread would be when the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears met in Week 11 most would have said anywhere from 10-14 points in favor of the Broncos. No one in their right mind would have made the Bears a favorite.

With the way Jay Cutler looked last season there was no reason to think this year was going to be any better. As it turns out, Cutler hasn't been half bad of late and the Bears actually are favored over the mighty Broncos this week.

A small spread would have been expected with Brock Osweiler getting his first start and nothing really known about how well he can play. With the Denver defense being as good as it is one would think the Broncos would still be favored--but they aren't.

Yes, Jay Cutler had the offense clicking last week against a very tough St. Louis defense. The Bears did beat the team that just clobbered the Broncos. However, they couldn't stop the woeful Detroit offense and actually lost to the Lions. So Cutler and company have looked good, but they have also looked like crap this season.

So--where is this  faith in the Bears coming from?

It must be in the Bears defense. Prior to the blowout win over the Rams the last five games had been decided by a field goal or less. They lost two of them, but had they won the Bears would be a respectable 6-3.

If that was the case then the spread would not be a surprise at all.
