Dallas Cowboys Sign Another Former Aggie Running Back To Fill Open Roster Spot

With the release of Joseph Randle the Dallas Cowboys had a spot on the roster opened up and a need for running back depth. Many fans hoped the team would sign the recently released Jarryd Hayne, but the Hayne Train was not claimed by anyone. Instead, they looked to a division rivals practice squad for some help.

They signed former Texas A&M running back Trey Williams off of the Washington Redskins practice squad.

Williams surprised many when he decided to skip his senior and enter the draft. No one drafted him, but he was signed to a contract with the Redskins for training camp. While he did look good during what action he saw in the preseason, the Redskins did not keep him on the 53-man roster, but released him and signed him back to the practice squad.

Someone in Dallas saw enough to warrant giving him a try, and so they stole him away from Washington, but fans should not expect too much too soon. He is already at practice, but it sounds like he may not have kept in playing shape while on the Redskins practice squad.
