Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah Sets Record For Longest Non-Scoring Play In NFL History [VIDEO]

Ameer Abdullah was supposed to be the answer to the running game woes of the Detroit Lions, but it hasn't quite worked out that way. The rookie from Nebraska has had a little trouble holding on to the ball so the team doesn't trust him in the backfield as often as they'd like to. They are not giving up on him of course, but will look to use him in other ways as they try to figure out how to stop his fumbling.

So Sunday against the Green bay Packers they had him returning kick offs, and it paid off. He took the second half kick off a few yards deep and ran it out rather than down it. The move nearly paid off with a touchdown, but he was caught at the end of the run and stopped at the one.

In the process he ended up making NFL history with the longest non-scoring play in the game at 104 yards.
