Houston Texans DL J.J. Watt Is Having Anything But A Down Year [VIDEO]

With all the struggles the Houston Texans have had on offense the team's defense has not passed the eye test as well as it has in the past. As a result, many also consider J.J. Watt to actually be having a down year when he is actually having anything but. Sunday he had six tackles (four for a loss) and a pair of sacks bringing his season total up to 11.5 (best in the league). Of his 50 tackles 21 have been for a loss (also best in the league); Aaron Donald is second with 14.

After ten games this season he already has 33 QB hits which should the season end today would be the fourth highest total since 2000 (he has the top three). His totals have gone up in each of the last three seasons too (2012-43; 2013-46; 2014-51).

With six games left it is not hard to see him get 18 more. Pretty much the only thing he hasn't done this year is score touchdowns--on offense or defense.

If people are actually holding that against him they are setting their expectations just a little too high.
