Jarryd Hayne Says No Truth To Rumors He Wants To Return To Rugby

Making the transition from one sport to the another isn't easy. Jarryd Hayne was aware of that before he decided to leave the NRL (National Rugby League) for the NFL, but he wanted to play in the NFL so he did it. He did enough to earn a spot on the opening day roster, but the team eventually decided he needed a little more work so they cut him.

He was resigned to the practice squad so he is still in the NFL, but it would not be hard to see him getting frustrated with the whole process. After all, he was a star in the NRL, and now he is just a scout team player that has to watch the game from the stands on Sundays.

So if he wanted to hang up his shoulder pads and go back to rugby it would be hard to fault him for it. When the papers back in Australia started to print rumors that he might be doing just that they gained steam. Someone decided to ask him about the rumors recently and he was more than happy to shoot them down:
“If I was going to go back (to Australia), I wouldn’t have even come (to America),” Hayne said. “Media back home is obviously just trying to make stories and use my name to make headlines. It’s foolish.”
What? You mean the media doesn't always print the truth? No!!!!

To make the move and give it up after six months would be a shame. Why take the gamble if you are going to give up that easily? Hayne has made tremendous progress in a short amount of time, and is playing with guys that have been living for football their entire lives.

So to be where he is now says a lot for his potential. It will be interesting to see how well he plays next season after having a year to learn the game and get comfortable with it.
