Jets QB Ran Fitzpatrick Shaves Beard-- Will Lightning Strike Twice?

Things haven't been going well for Ryan Fitzpatrick and the New York Jets lately. After getting off to a 4-1 start the team has gone 1-4 over the last five, and many are looking at Ryan Fitzpatrick as being the reason why. To be fair, he played well against New England and was injured for most of the Raiders loss.

However, he did complete fewer than half of his passes against Jacksonville and Houston and threw a pair of interception in each game. So yeah--he's slumping, but he has a solution. He shaved.

He didn't shave his beard completely off, but it is certainly the shortest it has been in years.

So he is finally ditching that insane beard--so what? Well, the last time he shaved his next game out he threw a career high six touchdowns and had 358 yards passing. Yeah, it was against the woeful Tennessee Titans, but so what? He could have flopped or only had a couple hundred yards and a pair of touchdowns.

But he didn't. He had six, and with that his mojo was on and he was ready to rock. Maybe--hopefully--the same thing can happen this time too.
“It seemed like it was time,” Fitzpatrick said via ESPN. “Switch up the mojo a little bit.”
They play the Dolphins Sunday, a team that is struggling as well. They are much better than the Titans were last year so if history is going to repeat his mojo is going to have to bring more magic to the table.
