K.J. Wright May Call Larry Fitzgerald When He Appeals His $23K Fine For Hitting Him [VIDEO]

Regretfully, fines have become a big part of the NFL. In an effort to deter players from doing certain things on the field the league has decided to fine guys for things even if they were not flagged for doing anything wrong during the game. It is an imperfect system that really needs to be overhauled, but that is not going to happen anytime soon.

Anyway...Seattle Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright ended up getting hit with a pretty hefty fine for this blow on Larry Fitzgerald during Sunday's game:

He was flagged on the play, and when fines were announced Friday he was hit with a $23K one. When he appeals it might help that his "victim" is in his corner:

Wright responded with this:

The system is never going to really make a difference. For it to do so players are  going to have to make conscious decisions during game not to do certain things. If that ends up being the case they are not going to be playing like they need to--and then they may be in danger of getting hurt.

The logic is simple--hit them in the bank account and they will change their ways. If that is indeed the case then they should suspend guys. Losing $20,000 means little to someone making a few hundred thousand dollars a game, but losing a few hundred thousand dollars....

That will make a difference!
