WATCH: Boise State's Tyler Gray Plants Air Force Running Back Into the Turf

As a defensive player, when your opponent is running the option you have to do your job and your job only. That way the offense does not have an opening to exploit and as long as you make the tackle you can shut it down. Fail to do your assignment or slide away from it too soon and you risk opening a big hole for the offense to exploit.

 On the run below Tyler Gray certainly stayed home so when the quarterback pitched the ball out to the running back he was in  position to make a big play--and he did.
