Saints QB Drew Brees Responds To J.J. Watt's Trash Talk About His Right Tackle

The internet was full of little stories everywhere referencing a video of Houston Texans defensive lineman J.J. Watt talking trash to the New Orleans Saints. Lots of guys trash talk, but few back it up as well as Watt does. On the day he had two sacks, five tackles, and seven hits on Drew Brees. So yeah--he earned the right to talk smack.

There is no denying that Watt is one of the most dynamic defenders in the game today. Brees certainly didn't try to do so when he commented on Watt's trash talk.

He gave credit where it was due (via ESPN):
“There’s no doubt [Watt is] a phenomenal player. I don’t think anybody can block him."
Like any quarterback worth his salt, he came to his offensive line's defense:
“Keep in mind our right tackle didn't give up any sacks last game[they came against Armstead],” said Brees,“Is J.J. Watt gonna get some hits on you? Yeah. But I also like to think I'm gonna be able to get the ball out before he hits me."
One of the hits led to an intentional grounding penalty so Brees didn't get it out before every hit.
