Denver Broncos DC Wade Phillips Jokes About Hit From Steelers WR Martavis Bryant

There was a brief during the Steelers-Broncos game where there was a legitimate reason to be worried about Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.  Late in the first half Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant bowled him over on the sideline. The hit was a pretty good one and many rushed to his side to see if he was okay.

He got right up and was able to continue on without any issues, and when asked about it this week he gave a response that was funny while throwing shade at Bryant at the same time (which I guess was kind of funny too).

Here's what he had to say:
“You know, I got the ‘big hit award’ last week. But what I did hear is Bryant — they say he’s not going to play until next August,” Phillips said jokingly. “So I hope he’s OK. But I heard he’s not playing anymore football.
“I’m fine. I hope he’s all right.”
Ha! Well done Coach. Well done indeed.
