Rockets K.J. McDaniels Fouls Andre Drummond Five Times In Opening Seconds Of Second Half; Drummond Goes On To Set New Record

Andre Drummond did not step on to the court Wednesday night thinking he would break a record held by one of the greatest players to ever dribble a ball--but he did. By time Wednesday night's game against the Houston Rockets was over he had missed a record 23 free throws (13-36) breaking the record set by Wilt Chamberlain back in 1967 (22).

He couldn't have done it without the help of Rockets reserve guard K.J. McDaniels who fouled Drummond five times within the first nine seconds of the second half:

He's only averaging about four minutes a game this season so he was probably happy to be in the game and doing something for the team even if it was helping put the other team into the bonus so they could start the hack-a-Drummond strategy.

As nice as it was to get in the game, McDaniels must have been bummed out he wasn't actually allowed to play--but he wasn't:

Houston would go on to lose 123-114.
