As I am sure you guys all know, today is Veteran's Day; a day where we give thanks to those that have fought for our country, past and present. Those brave men and women deserve our thanks everyday, but on this day especially people should be appreciative to the members of the Armed Forces for doing the things that we don't want to and for willingly putting themselves in harm's way so that we can have the freedom to choose whatever we want to choose.
Stadiums across the country did things yesterday in college games and today for the NFL in honor of Veteran's Day, but it is the move that the New England Patriots made that stands hands above the rest. The organization dedicated a seat that will remain forever unoccupied in remembrance of the POWs and those missing in action that remain unaccounted for still today.
I can't tell if the seat is one that normally was sold to a fan each ad every game, but even if it wasn't the gesture was a unique one that no other team in the NFL has done. I like that it is something that is going to last well beyond today and serve as a memorial of sorts for weeks and years to come.
Well done New England. Way to keep it classy.
