One of the Many Reasons Why Johnny Manziel Deserves to Win the Heisman

Folks in Texas are always pretty confident about their football teams and especially their stars. We think that they are hands down the best of the best and the rest are just eye candy to the real show--our teams and our guys (yes, I'm from Texas).

Sometimes we are right. Sometimes we are not. I'm not living in-state right now so I can say this without too much fear that my house is going to get TP'ed or egged. However, in the case of the the Lone Star State's favorite son right now--freshman phenom for the Texas Aggies Johnny 'Football' Manziel--I'd have to say that they are right.

Look at the stats. As a quarterback he's No. 31 in the nation in rushing. He's not just a runner though; the man is also No. 20 in passing, No. 21 in passing yards per game, No. 19 in total passing yards, No. 25 in passing efficiency, No. 23 in scoring, No. 7 in points responsible for, and No. 2 in total offense.

No other player in college football ranks as high in every statistical category as Johnny Football does.

Now I know what some are going to think. Stats don't make the man. Well, he has only led the Aggies to a 8-2 record with a win over the No.1 team in the nation and has Texas A&M poised to head to a BCS game for only the second time in school history.

If you still have doubts, just check out what he did Saturday against Alabama. After watching this play even the most die-hard and loyal Texas Longhorns fans have to say this kid is something else:
