That means that Alabama will have won its third national championship in four years. Some of those kids will be leaving college with three national championship rings. Even if they never play a single down of football again they will have accomplished more than most professionals ever have.
I would be willing to bet that if you ask any of them they will say that you should absolutely, positively never doubt a single thing that Nick Saban ever says when it comes to football. Again, with three national titles (and four overall) how can you argue?
So when the man says no watching ESPN--there is no watching ESPN!
Wait...what?
Apparently for the last couple days the players have had ESPN made unavailable in their hotel rooms. Why exactly no one but Saban knows; maybe someone will ask him after the game or in the next couple days. For now it is not known.
I can only guess that it so his team will not hear the commentators and analysts on the network talking about how good his team is or how his Crimson Tide should roll over the Fighting Irish. Maybe he doesn't want their egos getting a little too inflated or a sense of complacency setting in since victory is perceived to be easy for them.
Now in all fairness I have to point out something I read in an article today. The writer thought it was a little ridiculous that Saban thinks it would make that much of a difference; that these guys have to be focused by now, right?
To this guy I ask this: Do you have any kids? Do you know how short the attention span is of this generation?
Silly, too-controlling, or genius -they got another ring and a really neat trophy to take home so if Saban wants to say nothing but Nickelodeon prior to game time I don't think anyone will question him.
