Adrian Peterson Will Not Let His Son Play Football

Adrian Peterson is easily the hottest running back on the planet. The Minnesota Vikings stud has been a name player since he's been in the NFL, but broke into elite ground with his near record breaking season last year--and especially the second half push that fueled it.

Coming off a major injury made the story even more incredible than it was. Since he was able to recover from blowing out his knee like he was you would think he might be a little more forgiving of the bumps and bruises that come with playing football.

Maybe that is not the case after all. Last weekend in Houston TMZ caught up with the native Texan while he was in town for the NBA All Star game. They were not able to get too close to him while he was surrounded by police walking through a local mall, but they did get an interesting quote out of him--his son will not be playing football.

The damage that the game can do has been garnering more and more attention as science gains a greater understanding of how our bodies work.

It will not be surprising to hear some guys call him a sell out for not allowing his son to play the game that has brought him and his family so much, but at the same time as a Dad it is his duty to do what he feels is necessary to protect his son.

I'm sure this will not be the last we here about this little quip.
