NASCAR had a bad start to the season Saturday when there was a 12 car wreck in the final lap of the Nationwide series race on Saturday. None of the drivers were injured, but the wreck sent debris including a couple tires off of one car into the stands in spite of the safety net that was in place.
Some reports had as many as 33 people injured due to the debris; other said it was 28. Fifteen people had to be taken to the hospital.
