Missing the playoffs is not something that the Dallas Cowboys are accustomed to doing. Not going for three consecutive seasons is almost unheard of. The last time the team has done that was a five year span from 1986-90.
As torturous as the last few seasons have been, fans are still confident that the team is close to getting back to the post season. They just need a few key pieces added to the team.
Of course the problem with that is you actually have to pay guys and the Dallas Cowboys are the most cash-strapped team in the league with practically no room to spare under the cap.
When it comes to the business end of the game this is where team owner Jerry Jones can shine---and shine he has.
So far this off-season the Cowboys have done a miraculous job of getting guys to restructure contracts in order to get the team under the cap, and it looks like they will be doing it some more in order to make a pair of key additions to the defense....
