Fight in Stanford/California Game Results in More Coach Ejections than Players

Rivalries are tough. Some are more intense than others too. Typically the trash talk and drama is more with the players than the coaching staff, but in the Stanford/Cal game Wednesday night that wasn't exactly the case.

It started off simple enough with a nice hard foul and then all heck breaks loose.

I don't know about you guys, but I don't exactly see why four Stanford coaches had to be ejected. A player from each side was; that was to be expected. Other than doing a poor job of controlling their players I don't see why four of them or even one of them were sent to the locker room.

Now I get that is what is supposed to happen when guys leave the bench, but what do you expect coaches to do? If they were acting agggressive then fine, but they were breaking it up and keeping it from getting worse.

As if there ejection wasn't questionable enough, none of the fighters were ejected (technical were called; a total of 6). The two players tossed were guys from the bench.

Rules are rules guys, but it sounds like if these guys were cops they would arrest the victim of a drunk driving accident for not getting out of the way in time. Epic fail for the refs here.
