Kobe Bryant Has a New--and Better--Nickname

The Black Mamba was a cool name. I never heard why Kobe Bryant started calling himself that (and don't really care). However, it appears that he has now given himself another nickname that he wants to use instead. To be honest, I have to say I kind of dig. It makes a whole lot of sense.

What is it? Vino.

It makes sense. Here is in the twilight of his career having played since being drafted in the first round back in 1996. He is 34--old for a professional athlete, especially one that was still a teenager when he got started.

Now that he is playing in his 17th season you would expect hi too be slowing down a little, but that has not been the case. His 27.3 points/game is third in the league, and he is flyig around throwing down dunks like a player half his age!

Hence Vino. Because he is just getting beter with age. He may want to be careful holding on to this one too hard though. If he ends up being too much like vino he might get washed out when he still has a little left in his glass.

At his age he doesn't have too many years left so that could mean the end will come sooner than we think.

Hmmm...so maybe just calling him Kobe will have to work. Can't have him leaving too soon now can we?
