LeBron James to Magic Johnson on $1 Million Offer: I'll Get Back to You

Recently LeBron James got an offer from Magic Johnson that most folks would find pretty hard to pass up: enter the Dunk Contest (any contest) and he would put up $1 million to go to the winner.

In the past LeBron has talked about the contest. He's hinted at entering it. He's given fans reason to think he may be entering. He's mentioned he might if the prize were better. He's give lots of reasons for a 'maybe' while still saying no.

But can he say no to $1 million for a single night's work?

For most of the free world (and most of the communist one since we now know Kim Jon Un loves basketball) the answer would be pretty easy. However, in the NBA not so much.

While he has to work more than a single night to take home a million dollars LeBron is making plenty playing for the Miami Heat. The one mil would be nice, but it really wouldn't be that big a deal for him since he's making $17 million this season.

Then again, $1 million for one night? How can you say no?

Well, apparently LeBron can't say yes--but he can't say no; at least not yet.

"I don't have a response yet...Tell him I'll get back to him."

Okay. Fair enough.

It will be interesting to see if he does. It would be nice for it to finally happen so we can stop talking about him entering the contest, but if the field does not become an all-star field of dunkers it will not be worth it.

By all-star I don't mean what they currently have (because technically I guess those guys are all-stars; or are they since they are not voted in? Anyway...). I'm talking about getting Blake Griffin back, Kobe Byrant, Kevin Durant, Dwayne Wade--without guys like that it would basically be a $1 million LeBron James show and not a contest.
