Oklahoma City Thunder Make Grand Gesture Towards High School Player

A bad day might have a semi-happy ending for Hugo High basketball player Trey Johnson. The poor kid made national news after scoring a basket on his own goal and costing his team the game in the state quarter-finals.

There really isn't much you can say to a kid that has made that kind of blunder except that it is okay and eventually it will get better. It does suck that in this day and age when you make a gaffe like this it will be all over the internet in no time, but hey--that's the world we live in.

Personnel with the Oklahoma City Thunder, specifically general manager Sam Presti, heard about it and decided to do something to try and make Johnson feel a little better.
Johnson will be a guest of the team at Sunday's game against the Boston Celtics.

Nice going Thunder. Way to put a silver lining on an otherwise dark cloud for Johnson.
