Talks have been ongoing between the Green Bay Packers and star linebacker Clay Mathews, and it appears that something productive has finally come from them--a contract extension.
Rumor has it that the team and Mathews have agreed to a five year extension that will average out at $13 million a year. The previous high for a linebacker was the $11 million that the Dallas Cowboys are paying DeMarcus Ware.
Rest easy Packers fans. The cornerstone of your defense isn't going anywhere. So go ahead and dance because you are going to see a lot more of this over the next few years:
