Don't Mess with Rob (or any other) Gronkowski--Cause They Will Sue

Rob Gronkowski and his bro-tastic brothers are unhappy with a local t-shirt maker in Boston. The scoundrel is trying to make a little cash of the name that they--and namely Rob--have made so popular with a t-shirt that speaks to the fan base of the hard-partying tight end of the New England Patriots.

Rob and his brothers formed a company--Gronk Nation--that sells Gronk inspired apparel. They actually have trademarked “Gronk Nation,” “Gronk” and “Get Gronk’d” and are working on one for just "Gronk" (but according to their lawyers that's protected as well).

They are suing Sully's for infringing on their trademark and selling illegal Gronkowski attire.

I get it. People--especially celebrities--like to talk about protecting their good names. They don't want others to bash it, abuse it, or even worse--make money off of it. It is understandable. They work hard to get to a point to where there name can make money so all the power to them.

At the same time you have to wonder when how much is enough. Or if suing someone like this is a good idea. It can't help their image; it will just make them look a little miserly and selfish.

BUT it is their right and this guy as well as countless others are infringing on their trademark (assuming that "Got Gronk'd" is close enough to "Get Gronk'd" count).

What they need to do is strike a deal with Sully's and take over production and distribution of the shirt. If I lived in Boston and was a fan of the Patriots I would certainly by Sully's t-shirt.

One from the Gronk Nation though--not so much:

(This is the youth shirt, but the adult one's are not muh better.)
