Johnny Manziel Does it Again

Recently it appeared as if Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel made a very responsible decision in quitting Twitter (for now). As nice as social media outlets like it can be, in the months since he became the first freshman to win the Heisman trophy it has proven to be more of a curse than anything else.

Media, fans, and haters alike have questioned the youngster for a lot of off-field behavior. His response to much of the critique--both appropriate and inappropriate in nature--was not always appropriate in itself making his decision to back away from Twitter an admirable one.

But he didn't say anything about backing off of other social media outlets like Instagram.

The above picture of Manziel and a young lady throwing up the 'Texas Tech six-shooters' is not going to cause as much of a stir as his temporary Longhorn tattoo (which he lied about) or him throwing up the "hook 'em horns" sign at an Austin-area concert, but there will likely be some of the Aggie Faithful that will not be happy with it.

While I have been critical of young Johnny Football for some of his past immature actions, this one I do not have an issue with. The photo's caption included  '#kingsbury' in it, a reference to the new head coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders and former Texas A&M offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury.

Kingsbury, a pretty solid college quarterback back in the day himself, had a lot to do with Manziel's meteoric rise to stardom so it is completely understandable that Johnny Football want to show support for him.

Heck, it should be expected almost. Just changing teams does not make someone the enemy; it just makes them on a different team.

Oh--and according to LBS the girl, a student manager for the Red Raiders, has appeared in other pics with Manziel and appears to be a friend.

So if you catch any flack for this picture Johnny I got your back. There is nothing wrong with taking pictures with your friends and supporting the man that had a whole lot to do with making you the football player--and star--you are today.
