Paul Pierce Comes Up With a Unique Name for Son

The Boston Celtics could have used Pal Pierce Monday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. An argument could be made that the team would not have lost to the T-wolves 110-100 had he been in the line-up. Then again, maybe not.

Either way, he had a great reason for not being there. He and his wife were bringing a bouncing baby boy into the world (congratulations).

Now naming a child is a pretty serious thing. After all, the child is going to carry this name around his entire life. Lots of folks will go with a common name that they like such as John, Tom, Bob, or Paul. Others like to make sure that their child is going to be the only person in class with their name.

Paul Pierce kind of straddles both categories with a desire for uniqueness and the traditional. Alex Kennedy, from HoopsWorld shared his thoughts and the name in this tweet:

I don't think I would call it awesome, but I don't know how I do feel about it. I keep thinking that LeBron James is thinking his kids should be the 'prince' since he is the king.
