Robert Griffin III has the Most Popular Jersey in NFL History

With the exception of the busted knee it is good to be Robert Griffin III. Not only did he set a record for highest passer rating by a rookie quarterback (102.4), earn Rookie of the Year honors, and a trip to the Pro Bowl, but the youngster set another record.

His No. 10 jersey became the top selling jersey in NFL history.

The exact numbers have not been released, but for the year starting in April 1, 2012, and ending March 1 of this year RG3's jersey was the top seller in the league by far.

His jersey was not just the top seller of the year though. His No. 10 sold more jerseys in the last fiscal year than any other jersey in NFL history (or at least as long as they've been tracking this sort of thing).

RG3 took over the No. 1 spot from Brett Favre's Viking jersey back in 2009. Peyton Manning's was the second best seller last season and had the third best year of all time. Favre's Jets jersey holds down the fort with the fourth best seller (back in 2008).

The top 10 jerseys according to sales for the last year are as follows:

1. Robert Griffin III, Redskins
2. Peyton Manning, Broncos
3. Ray Lewis, Ravens
4. Colin Kaepernick, 49ers
5. Tom Brady, Patriots
6. Andrew Luck, Colts
7. Aaron Rodgers, Packers
8. Victor Cruz, Giants
9. Eli Manning, Giants
10. Patrick Willis, 49ers
