Video, Details on the Boston Marathon Explosions [UPDATED--AGAIN]

Details have been emerging throughout the day on the explosions that rocked the Copley Square area in Boston early Monday afternoon.

[UPDATE; 4/16 @ 11:17 AM ET]: Authorities have now stated that there were only two devices; the others that were rumored to have existed were in fact not explosive devices, but suspicious parcels that were treated with due caution.

The death toll is now at 3 with 176 people injured; 17 are in critical condition as of this morning.

There are no suspects in custody. The Saudi nation that was discussed yesterday is not a suspect and cooperated fully with authorities.

April 15

At about 2:50 PM ET a pair of explosions occurred near the finish line of the race. It has been reported that they were approximately 50-100 yards apart with one about three minutes after the other.

Early indications are that this tragedy could have been a lot worse that it was. A third explosion was reported at the JFK Library, but reports have since stated that it was a fire (possibly mechanical and unrelated) and not an explosion. However, there has been at least one other device recovered by police.

Two other devices have been discovered by authorities, one at the 600 block of Boylston Street and the other at the footbridge of Huntington Avenue.

There have been two deaths and more than 100 injuries reported so far.[UPDATED] Reports now indicate that three have died and more than 130 injured.

President Obama gave a statement Monday evening about the bombs.

No one has come forward to take responsibility for the bombings and there does not appear to be any clear motivation behind the attack.

Some marathoners ran past the finish line and to the hospital in order to donate blood. Cell phone service has been shut off to keep any remote devices not found from being detonated (not that there are any or reason to believe there are, but as a precaution).

Google has released a tool to help people find loved ones that may be missing and unaccounted for. People can also call 617-635-4500.

My heart and prayers go out to all those affected by the tragedy today. Don't worry though--if there is one thing that folks in the U.S. are good at is rallying around innocent people that suffer from senseless and cowardly attacks.

We got your back Boston.
