It has been a longtime coming, but the WWE lawsuit involving the usage of former wrestling icon Owen Hart’s image has finally been settled.
Owen Hart died during a wrestling event held in Kansas City back in 1999. He was repelling from the rafters into the ring when the apparatus meant to control his descent malfunctioned causing him to fall 50-feet onto a ring turnbuckle. Hart suffered a broken neck and died shortly after the accident.
Since his death, the WWE has used his likeness and story in commercials and promotional material without first obtaining permission from his wife, Martha Hart. After the WWE refused to comply with a cease and desist order she filed a lawsuit against the organization...
