In case you have been hiding in a hole in the ground, stuck in the desert, or have sworn off modern conveniences as a way trying to get back to nature you have probably heard that the soccer stud of all soccer studs has called it quits.

Yes, ladies and gents, David Beckham has retired from the game.

In the coming days I am sure that media outlets and bloggers around the world will have plenty to say about Becks. The man has become not just an icon for his game, but one for his country as well. Few athletes can say that they have truly ascended to such status and received the kind of notoriety that he has.
