The 'Will Derek Rose Play' Question is Finally Answered

For the last month or so the NBA has been held hostage by one question--will Derrick Rose return? After receiving clearance he never said never. Throughout the playoffs he hinted at the possibility of a return practically every game. Since a player of his caliber could change the landscape of the postseason the question had to be continually asked--is Derrick Rose going to play?

Well, the Miami Heat decided to answer that question for people. The answer is NO.

Going into Game 5 Wednesday night the Bulls already had their backs against the wall down three games to one in the best of seven series. To make matters worse they had not really played well either making the chances of them living to fight another day (this season) slim to say the least.

And sure it enough it looked pretty bad at times, but the Bulls managed to rally, overcome an 18-point deficit, and go into the final period with a 77-69 lead.

Then it all fell apart.

The Bulls couldn't buy a shot, and the Miami offense found some life. Dwayne Wade's dunk with three minutes to go (see video) gave the Heat a seven point lead. They would end up winning 94-91 in the end.

Since the Bulls are now done we can now say that beyond the shadow of a doubt that Derrick Rose is not going to return this season.

Finally.

Hakuna matata Derrick! We'll see ya next year!
