NBA Finals: 3 Keys for the Spurs in Game 1

The San Antonio Spurs are back in the NBA Finals, but they start the series on the road for the first time in the team’s history. The Spurs have proven this post season that they can beat teams on the road, showing their focus and determination. The Miami Heat though aren’t like other teams, so the Spurs will have their work cut out for them.



The Spurs’ goal should be to steal one of the first two games in Miami, so they can enjoy the advantage of having Games 3-5 in San Antonio. So what are the keys for the Spurs to get that Game 1 steal they want so desperately?

Weathering the Storm 

The Miami Heat are going to come out with the energy of crowd fueling their attack. It will be important for the Spurs to not become overwhelmed and to keep the game close. They should expect for LeBron James to try and set the tone with his passing ability early. The Spurs do not want to let the Miami Heat’s role players to get off to good starts, it could plague them for the rest of the game....
