Alabama QB AJ McCarron Gets a Little Testy Over the ESPYS

The ESPYS were held Wednesday night in Los Angeles and the best that the sports world has to offer was there ready to get a pat on the back or give one to someone else. That is, most of the best players were there. The quarterback of the defending college football champions was at home.

If you don't want to go, you don't have to go. That's his prerogative; he's allowed. However, you have to wonder why he would not want to attend one of the biggest sports shows of the year. Who would not want the chance to rub elbows with the best that Wide World of Sports has to offer?

Apparently McCarron could care less, and I suppose it is understandable. He likely knew that he wasn't going to win anything, so why bother. Maybe he didn't feel the need to congratulate anyone for winning a championship by giving them another award.

Kind of pointless right?

But his main squeeze, the lovely Katherine Webb, was in attendance. It sure would have been a great night out with his girlfriend...but maybe he didn't want to play second fiddle to her...

No one knows by AJ and that is all that matters, but it appears that he got tired of people tweeting about his absence so he sent out a tweet of his own:

No one else goes to the award show to know what their team did either AJ. It's just another excuse to get dressed up and go to a party.
