Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers Proves How Tragically Un-hip He Is

Aaron Rodgers is a heck of a quarterback; truly one of the greats in the game today. He's won a Super Bowl, been named its MVP, the league MVP, an All-Pro, a Pro Bowler--there is little that he hasn't done during his career and he still has plenty of good years left.

That's why the Packers signed him to a nice 5-year, $110 million contract extension making him the highest paid player in NFL history. However, while there are many things that  money like that can do for you there are some that it can't.

Like make you hip.

Rodgers has become one of the many that have taken to Twitter to fill the void between mini-camp and the beginning of training camp. Recently he took to the popular social medium to express his desire to get back to the game he loves.

Okay. I can dig it; I'll take it as a nod to the Blue Brothers. He goes on to say who is doing what in the band. Nothing wrong there.

But then things take a tragic turn for the worse when he makes a comparison that is--well, a decade too late to be cool.

Creed? Really? Come on Aaron? Can't you do better than that (not that I know any better; I'm 39 and haven't bee hip for a long time)?

For a man with his own record label you would think he would be more up on the music scene than that. Well, I guess its better than making some sort of One Direction or Justin Beiber reference. If he had--I don't think I could cheer for him anymore.
