Texas Rangers May Have a Steal in Manny Ramirez

When the Texas Rangers signed Manny Ramirez to a minor league contract half the baseball loving world laughed while the other half called it a savvy move. So far--after six games--it is starting to appear as if the latter half is going to be right.

Manny was killing it in Taiwan earlier this year before leaving that team for a shot at getting back in the Big League. Texas decided to give him that chance and so far he is making the Rangers look lie geniuses for doing so.

In six games with the Round Rock Express Manny has hit two home runs, is hitting .286, and has only struck out twice.

Not bad, right?

I'm sure the Rangers would like to see a little more from him before bringing him up, but they may find they need him sooner rather than later. With the injury woes of the team's current DH, Lance Berkman, has been dealing with a spot could be calling his name.
