Alabama Sits on Top of AP Preseason Poll (shocker)

We've already seen the Coaches Poll so we really can't be surprised at anything we see in the Associated Press Top 25. Alabama is an overwhelming No. 1 (58 of 60 votes). That could actually be a good thing for the rest of the country. In the last 31 years there have only been three preseason No. 1's that went on to win the national title.

Ohio State is going to make it tough on Alabama. You kind of have to wonder if the Crimson Tide would have been knocked off of their lofty perch last season. Of all the teams Oregon may be poised for the biggest drop due to Chip Kelly leaving town.

In comparison to the Coaches Poll 19 teams are in the same place, but that will undoubtedly change once the season starts--which can't happen soon enough!

Anyway...here is the top 25:

1. Alabama (58)
.Ohio St. (1)
.Oregon
.Stanford
.Georgia (1)
.South Carolina
.Texas A&M
.Clemson
.Louisville
.Florida
.Florida St.
.LSU
.Oklahoma St.
.Notre Dame
.Texas
.Oklahoma
.Michigan
.Nebraska
.Boise St.
.TCU
.UCLA
.Northwestern
.Wisconsin
.USC
.Oregon St.
