Jets QB Mark Sanchez Throws Pick 6 on First Drive But Bounces Back Well

Oh boy. I am sure that New York Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan was hoping for a nice game from his longtime QB to make the decision process easier, but come on. Did anyone really think it would happen?

Both Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith are listed as the No. 1 QB for the Jets, but Sanchez got the start Friday in the team's first preseason game Friday night against the Detroit Lions. Sure enough, on the first drive he throws an interception that Lions rookie Ziggy Ansah returns for a touchdown.

Fans were not happy of course.

To be fair to Sanchez with the exception of the pick-6 he had a good night going 10-13 for 125 yards and a touchdown. So while there was some bad, there was plenty of good too.

Geno Smith's night had just begun when I posted this so whether Sanchez put some distance between him and Smith remains to be seen.

Heck, if the decision was going to be easy it wouldn't be the Jets, right?
